“Dancers Among Us” is an exquisite ongoing art project led by photographer Jordan Matter. Since 2009, Matter has captured photos of professional dancers in a variety of different settings performing enchanting dance moves. Most of the images are set in everyday scenarios ranging from busy subway stations, coffee shops, serene lakes among many others. Many of the images display the dancers seemingly levitating gracefully and powerfully in midair while others are shown en pointe in ballet shoes.
